Xiao-Zhi Gao earned his D.Sc. (Tech.) degree from the Helsinki University of Technol¬ogy (now Aalto University), Finland in 1999. In January 2004, he was appointed as a Docent (Adjunct Professor) at the same university. He has been working as a senior research fellow in the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland since October 2016. He is also a Guest Professor/Visiting Professors at several universities in China. He has published more than 350 technical papers on refereed journals and international conferences, and his current Google Scholar h-index is 23. His research interests are nature-inspired computing methods (e.g., neural networks, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence, and artificial immune systems) with their applications in optimization, data mining, machine learning, control, fault diagnosis, signal processing, and industrial electronics.

Valentina E. Balas is currently Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, University “Aurel Vlaicu” Arad (Romania). She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara since 2003. She is author of more than 160 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Dr . D. Jude Hemanth received his B.E degree in ECE from Bharathiar University in 2002, M.E degree in communication systems from Anna University in 2006 and Ph.D. from Karunya University in 2013. His research areas include Computational Intelligence and Image processing. He has authored more than 100 research papers in reputed International Journals. He has authored 1 book with (VDM-Verlag, Germany) and many book chapters with reputed publishers such as Springer and Inderscience. He has been serving as Associate editor of IEEE Access Journal. He is also the guest editor of many journals with Springer, Inderscience, IOS Press, etc. He has been also the organizing committee member of several international conferences across the globe. He holds professional membership with IEEE Technical Committee on Neural Networks (IEEE Computational Intelligence Society) and IEEE Technical Committee on Soft Computing (IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernatics Society). He has completed 1 funded research project from CSIR, Govt. of India. He also serves as the “Research Scientist” of Computational Intelligence and Information Systems (CI2S) Lab, Argentina and RIADI Lab, Tunisia. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor in Department of ECE, Karunya University, Coimbatore, India.
